Closing Time

Last Thursday was officially the last day of our team together. It was the end of an era. I have been contemplating on what to write to immortalize our time together as a team; all the laughter, stupid jokes, and even the small bickering that happens from time to time. Every time I try to string words together, I get stuck. There’s so much to say. So much emotion swinging me around.

For almost four years, my work life revolves around this team, these people. They understand and adores my individuality and I love every single one of them. They are one of the reasons why I love coming to work. I wouldn’t have been this content if not for them. They celebrate with me whenever I achieve something and reminds me that things will be just fine when I fail at something. For four years, I am so used to seeing their faces and hearing their voices every working day. And now that is about to change.

Last Tuesday,  I was packing my stuff to move it to the other side of the building while two of my team mates were watching me. I made 3 trips to finish moving all my stuff. I said goodbye to them and that they should come visit me on the other side of the building. I told JM and Sai that even though we are now reporting to different managers and part of different teams, in my heart we will always be a team. I was holding back my tears because I am a drama queen like that. Please don’t judge me. HAHA.

Today, I am seated and getting along with my new team and you know that nothing excites me than trying or experiencing something new. They’re no strangers, but this is the first time that I will experience working with them side by side. I am thrilled with what we can accomplish and weather the storm together.

To my former team, I hope you had a wonderful time those years as much as I did.

While I am sad that our team were split into half, I am also radiant for a new beginning. For a new era in my life.
